Sheboygan MPO Public Participation Plan

2016 Public Participation Plan Update: Public Consultation Period Through August 5, 2016

The Bay-Lake Regional Planning Commission is in the process of developing a 2016 update to the Public Participation Plan (PPP) for the Sheboygan MPO.  The PPP is being updated based on experience with the 2012 PPP Update over the past four years as well as in response to public outreach requirements in recent federal surface transportation legislation (MAP-21 and the FAST Act).  The public consultation period for the 2016 PPP Update starts on July 1, 2016, and will run through August 5, 2016.  During this period, MPO staff can meet with area organizations regarding comments that they may have on the preliminary draft of the 2016 PPP Update.  If enough organizations contact MPO staff for a meeting, MPO staff may arrange a public informational meeting regarding the draft plan in the Sheboygan area between July 1 and August 5 at a time that is optimal for a maximum number of the requesting parties.

This consultation period is separate from a 45 day public comment period on the 2016 PPP Update that will occur once MPO staff have edited the plan based on comments received during the consultation period.

2012 Public Participation Plan Update (PPP Currently in Effect)

The Bay-Lake Regional Planning Commission (BLRPC) adopted the 2012 update to the PPP for the Sheboygan MPO on July 27, 2012, after several months of review by the Sheboygan MPO Technical and Policy Advisory Committees and after a 30 day "consultation period" and a 45 day public comment period.  This 2012 Public Participation Plan Update is intended to describe how BLRPC staff will, to the best of their ability, provide the opportunity for public input and understanding of transportation plans and programs to all residents of the Sheboygan metropolitan planning area, especially to those persons who have been historically underrepresented in the planning process.
