2024 Community Project Survey - Due 06/28/2024

The 2024 Community Project Survey of the Bay-Lake Region provides an opportunity for communities to share information about upcoming projects and plans. The survey responses will help the Bay-Lake RPC understand the projects taking place in the region and may be used to connect communities with possible funding and assistance. The projects listed in the survey may also be included in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) document, which can support grant applications for project funding.

What is the CEDS?

As an Economic Development Administration (EDC) designated Economic Development District, the Bay-Lake Regional Planning Commission is responsible for developing and updating the region’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) document. The CEDS is a locally-based, regionally-driven economic development planning process and document that works to identify the region's strengths and weaknesses and brings together a diverse set of partners to generate jobs, diversify the economy, and spur economic growth.

The CEDS allows the region to maximize its economic development potential, as well as engage with the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) and other federal partners to receive federal grant funding, such as EDA’s Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance programs.

Where can I find the CEDS document?

The CEDS is a pre-requisite for federal designation as an EDD and must be updated at least every five years. The most recent CED for the region, 2022-2027 CEDS, was adopted by the Commission in 2023, and approved by EDA in 2024.
