Short-range Transportation Planning

"Short-range transportation planning" is defined as transportation planning activities that have a horizon year of five years or less into the future. Examples of short-range transportation planning activities include: public involvement, environmental justice and Title VI activities; providing planning assistance to local units of government and to WisDOT; collecting data for performance indicators that can be tracked annually (including preparing an annual report on such indicators); completing special transit studies; and other activities.

Updating of the Shoreline Metro Transit Development Program (TDP) could be considered a short-range transportation planning activity, but since it is financed outside of traditional MPO funding, it is listed separately on this website.
