Regional Active Transportation

Bay-Lake RPC provides transportation planning services to the region for all modes of transportation, including active transportation. Active transportation refers to any form of human-powered transportation such as walking, cycling, using a wheelchair, or any physical activity as a means of travel. Active transportation promotes physical health, reduces traffic congestion, and decreases environmental impact by minimizing carbon emissions and reliance on fossil fuels. Encompassing a range of activities from daily commutes to recreational outings, active transportation is integral to creating sustainable and healthy communities.
Active transportation planning takes many forms, including bicycle and pedestrian planning, and Safe Routes to School planning.
