Safe Routes To School Planning
Safe Routes to School (SRTS) is an approach that promotes walking and bicycling to school through infrastructure improvements, enforcement, tools, safety education, and incentives to encourage walking and bicycling to school.
Algoma School District
In 2024, the Commission assisted the Algoma School District on the completion of a Safe Routes to School Action Plan. The plan aims to improve the health and the well-being of students by identifying and addressing barriers to them being able to walk or bike to school safely.
